About the Show
Join us every weekday at 8pm for our flagship show, Southend Hospital Tonight. You’ll hear the latest national news, along with features, events and interviews. We bring you everything you need to know to keep you up to date with what’s going on in and around the hospital too. The show is brought to you by our team of dedicated volunteers and it’s sprinkled with a variety of your favourite music. Here are some examples of what we’ve featured recently:
- Interviews from other volunteer groups around the hospital
- Health and fitness tips from the NHS
- How to improve your state of mind during the Covid lockdown
- Updates from local community groups
- Fun facts about Southend
- The A to Z of Pop trivia challenge
Weekdays from 8pm, including “The Thank You Hour” on Thursdays.
Hi there,
My daughter is in year 9 and is about to begin her duke of Edinburgh. She’s really interested in volunteering at the radio station. Is this something she could do? Please let me know if there’s someone I could contact to find out more information.
Hi Lucie,
Thanks for the interest. We are always on the lookout for volunteers, but the minimum age for volunteers is 16. As soon as your daughter reaches this age, we’d certainly be interested to hear from her if she’s still interested in volunteer work with us. There is more information and a video here: https://www.southendhospitalradio.co.uk/volunteer/
Thanks again for your interest.
My girlfriend called Annette Mcdowell is in Southend Hospital. She is on the 3rd floor of the tower block. In the the Blemming Ward. She would like to listen to Especially for you by Kylie and Jason Donvan. It would make her day. From Craig White
