I joined Southend Hospital Radio in 2009 because I retired then and was looking for a couple of voluntary jobs to do so as to keep my hand in talking to the public as I’d been a market researcher for 35 years.

I particularly enjoy going round the wards and meeting the patients and having a chat and getting their requests. I have always loved music and have the radio on at home and in my car. I like a full scope of music – light classical, musicals, right through to modern music but particularly enjoy going to concerts.

The best band I have ever seen are The Eagles and The Moody Blues and I have liked Cliff Richard since I was 12 attending nearly all of his concerts, musicals and pantomimes over the years.
