Simon Pearson

Hello, my name is Simon. I joined Southend Hospital Radio in January 2010. I have always loved music and the first record bought from me was “The Pepperbox” by The Peppers.

Since then, I have built up a library of music, which covers the last five decades.

Last year, I undertook a two-part radio broadcasting skills course at South Essex College, where my tutor was Pete Sipple, who has been in radio some time and has a great depth of knowledge about this industry. During the course, Pete suggested that I joined the Southend Hospital Radio team to gain further skills.

Joan and Dave made me feel very welcome and at ease.

The Thursday night team is a great bunch, and it's also great to go round the wards visiting and talking to patients.
