Biography: Jemma George

Jemma George.

Hello, my name is Jemma George and I've been volunteering at Southend Hospital Radio since 2003.

My connection to Southend Hospital Radio came very early on in life visiting the studios when I was a toddler, as both my mother and uncle were members.

I work at a university in London and locally as an usherette at the Cliffs Pavilion and Palace Theatre. I love being both a member of the ward liaison team and a presenter.

I thoroughly enjoy both visiting the patients and broadcasting to them on air. It's incredibly rewarding, knowing that you're playing music that people actually want to hear and being able to brighten up their stay in hospital. Southend Hospital Radio provides a very important service to the patients, and I'm proud to be a member of the team.
