Profile: Gary Rushman

Hello, my name is Gary Rushman. I'm a volunteer with Southend Hospital Radio and have always had a passion for music and radio. I have worked for various companies in Southend, for the past 12 years, mainly in the administration roles.

 

I decided to get involved with radio and went on to radio broadcasting courses, where I became friends with Simon Pearson, a Southend Hospital Radio volunteer.

After completing the course successfully, I was offered a role in hospital radio and the rest as they say is history!

 

I enjoy collecting some requests from patients and presenting on-air. I am currently a member of the Thursday requests team working in a very friendly atmosphere. I enjoy listening to various music genres, anything from the late 70s to indie music, going to gigs regularly and reading current music magazines. Music is my main interest, but I am also a big football fan and support Spurs.

 

I hope all the patients enjoy listening to Southend Hospital Radio.
